When we moved, I put my One Safety Pin* in a Very Safe Place where it would a) not get lost and b) be very easy to find again when I need it.

Well, it has gotten lost and I have forgotten where that Very Safe Place was.

Friends, make sure that in YOUR homes, you always have more than one safety pin.

*That would indeed mean the Only Safety Pin I Own.

*cackle* I was so there about... eight years ago. Then I wised up, bought a whole box or two at different times, and I've managed to retain a couple dozen. They're in two places: on my bulletin board (in a chain or two) and in a trinket box on my dresser, handy for last-minute wardrobe alterations (like yesterday morning on the black circle skirt).

Chain?

Quite a brilliant idea. It would be harder to lose them that way.

Yep, chain, or a bunch all on a big pin, and hang that from the bulletin board. It really does work very well.

Safety pins are also great to keep in those little pin trays or trinket boxes on the dresser. After all, pin tray...

I have this mental image of a Christmas tree garland made out of safety pins.

I know some people who kept their tree up all year and decorated it for seasons and parties. I suppose you could keep your tree up all year to store your safety pins. If you get real lucky it'll short out the lights and make a grand display.

Everyone should have an Exploding Icon.

Something domestic.

Did you know that a hard-boiled egg will explode if you heat it in the microwave?

Like my Exploding Pyrex Pan.

My uncle used to demonstrate the explosive qualities of microwaved eggs over and over again to my dad and their brothers. I have not personally experienced this, however.

Isn't it amazing that when we put something in a "very safe place" so not to "forget it, we always seem to forget where the very safe place was? This happens to me all of the time. =\

I hope you find your One Safety Pin!

ALL THE TIME.

I went out and bought some in varying sizes. This should help.

I hope.

I have about 200 safety pins, to guard against future loss.

It's drink coasters I always lose, for some reason.

Wow. Drink coasters are always on my kitchen table... don't have a problem with those.

I now own a nice bag of safety pins. Yay!
