OK... so maybe I'm just not in the loop. I knew that LiveJournal has been sold twice since the original guy had it. Why is this such a big deal to some people? I've noticed no changes or troubles.

Lost.

Also, really really hot.

The reason I bring this up is because (fluff)Friends was just sold to some company called SGN and in the forums (why am I admitting I spend time in the (fluff)Forum?!) several people got on a rant about how LJ went downhill after changing hands.

??

i'm not sure, i think with lj most of the change was with the free accounts. the ads and such, but last i heard they remedied that?

i haven't noticed anything personally.

As far as I know there are only ads on LJ if you have the "plus" account... which I don't have... anymore...

The forums are WAY too busy for me... but I do browse. And visit the Foxee petting thread. Because... foxees rocksies.

Concurrently with LJ being sold, LJ got huge. It started needing to make money and *gasp* took steps to do so. Some people got cranky about that.

My personal feeling is that they did so because it's a way of lording it over people who haven't been here as long as they have.
