Book 45: Little Men, Louisa May Alcott. 202pp
I picked this up right after I finished Little Women. In May.
I'm not sure what it was this time; I just couldn't seem to stay focused on it. I didn't exactly not enjoy it, but it wasn't the same experience I felt re-reading LW, and certainly not the same as when I was a teenager.
It could be the different approach to the storytelling: the chapters pretty much work independently of each other, rather than a constant forward flow as in LW. I guess with as many characters as there are in LM, that's kind of how it must be.
Or maybe I just wasn't in the correct frame of mind. I don't know. But whatever it was, I'm glad I'm done with it and can move on now to something new.
