The History of a Cockroach, Part IX

I heard the noises of scuttling last night and went to the living room to find an orange thing wrestling with a plastic cockroach on the couch.

He has this thing lately of carrying it around by one antenna.






Also, when I went to the bathroom last night prior to sleeping, there was a mouse in Spot's water dish.

I took it out and put it on the floor. He sniffed it gingerly. It was soooooo soggy.

After he started bringing it to bed with us, soggy mouse had to mysteriously disappear.

I should take Spotkins for a walk. However, I have a pair of pies in the oven which must be carefully tended and a huge pie-related mess to clean up on the counter. Seriously, why does pie making have to be so messy? I have a bowl of apple leavings, flour drifts, stray bits of leftover pastry, and any number of measuring apparatuses.

I barely had enough shortening, too. That was an adventure.

All I can say is, we better find SOMEONE to come for lunch tomorrow.

polargriff, I finished chapter 1 this morning. I have some things I want to post about it, tonight if possible. :-)

More running commentary on my day, since I'm sure you're SO fascinated with it!

So, the pies are out of the oven and they look relatively good. The crust on one is a tad kooky, but the other is more in one piece. They dripped a tad. This just means I will have an oven to scrub in addition to everything else. I did get the dishes washed, though.

Next up: vacuum.
