Also, I am having waffles for breakfast.

Okay, so they'll be warmed-over via toaster from yesterday. BUT THEY ARE STILL WAFFLES.

I need a waffles icon. With Donkey on it.

Anybody game? Know where I can get one?

Why am I sitting here blogging with a bag of Western Family All Purpose Bleached Flour at my feet?

Because I'm laughing at the transparency of their self-promoting ways.

The recipe on the back calls for Western Family all purpose flour, WF baking powder, WF salt, WF cinnamon, WF nutmeg, WF large eggs, WF buttermilk, WF granulated sugar, WF vegetable oil, WF vanilla, and WF frozen blueberries.

EVERY LAST INGREDIENT.

I know most companies do this. But this is the first time I've ever seen EVERY ingredient branded.

Of course, if you choose C&H sugar, the recipe would NEVER work.

The day is slowly becoming productive. I have a second load of laundry washing and the first one drying.

I've been grocery shopping with teh husband (where I bought the Western Family All Purpose Bleached Flour).

I picked up The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, three Elizabeth Speare books, two sewing books, and Jumanji at the library. New goal? Read a book a week. (No, Jumanji doesn't count.)

I cleaned out and organised the freezer for the first time since we moved. No wonder I couldn't find anything.

The fruit has to be together. The veggies have to be together. I am OCD with freezer organisation.

It won't stay that way, but at least it's a good start trying.

The fridge is next. If I'm not heard from in a few hours, check the crisper. It may have eaten me alive.

I was doing laundry, allegedly. Most of the time I was actually just sitting in the rocking chair with my nose buried in a book.

Then I came up to fold the laundry and most of the time I was actually just sitting in the office chair with my nose buried in [livejournal.com profile] ruthette's journal.

Well, I can't be sure of how many books I read this year except for one I recall reading this summer. According to my old journal I read ONE book in January.

How sad is that?

So, today I read my THIRD book of the year. I brought home 3 Elizabeth George Speare books today and started right in on "Calico Captive".

Spoiler alert!! )

I think I'll do "Sign of the Beaver" next. I'm saving "Witch of Blackbird Pond" since I already know I like it and the best must be saved for last.

[livejournal.com profile] ruthette's amazing ability to read copious amounts of literature have inspired me to remedy this lack in my life. It's not like I don't have time now. Just out of the habit of making time for it.

Apparently the whole world is on Twitter bogging it down just now, but I WON SCRABBLE.
