Two years ago today Dan asked me to marry him. :-)

Had a fairly good night and did actually sleep a bit. I'm so tired and don't really realise it until sleepiness hits me like a tidal wave, literally. I feel as if I'm actually being draped in something warm... and then Molly squeaks or something and wakes me back up. She did much better just being in bed with us all night though, and until about 3 am didn't need much attention. After that though she wanted to be fed, and kept falling asleep in mid-gulp, so the process of getting her fed was a very, very long and drawn-out affair (it was almost six by the time she was finally satisfied and went to sleep). I'm going to try again here shortly with her partially disrobed.

Spot is curled up looking dejected at the foot of the bed. Poor Spot. Molly is adorable in her little bundly suit that Dan put her in yesterday. SOOOOOOO much easier to get her in and out of than a sleeper for the 1,002,036 diaper changes she requires each day. She's wiggled one of her hands partially out of it and I see tiny fingers peeking.

18 degrees out. Brr. But better than the 6 it is in Yakima.

Oh. And this morning I declined when Dan offered to take a picture of this HUGE blood clot I passed. GAAAAAAAG. He was joking... I hope.

Today's food )

I really feel bleh. Something about standing making my smoothie brought on nausea yesterday morning and it's kind of doing the same thing this morning.

Also, when I came downstairs this morning I got assaulted by Downy Stench Wafting In. People who live behind us are apparently Downy addicts, and while I don't quite understand who does laundry at this hour of the morning anyway... had a coughing fit. Must remember to shut kitchen window at night.

Dan is on the verge of changing his mind about the boy's middle name yet again. I was like... three months left, now. But, it wouldn't really surprise me if he at the last minute decided on something totally new.

I can't say anything because I almost changed the girl middle name at one point, too, but decided against it.

Well, for the first time in about a week I woke up at midnight or one to go to the bathroom instead of four-thirty. You have no idea how nice that is. Because I could actually go back to sleep last night.

Though I did keep waking up on my back, and that's really weird. I must have been restless in my sleep, because usually when I wake up to pee I'm in the same position I lugged myself into to go to sleep.

GooGoo obligingly kicked Dan's hand on command last night. He never responds to my voice. *pout*

Then again, I was thinking how I really rarely say anything. So maybe it's my own fault.

I think a fruit smoothie is in order for breakfast this morning and maybe Cheerios. I took my calcium in milk yesterday. I will pass on doing that again. The chalky sediment in the bottom of the glass=vile. Maybe some peanut butter toast. Not sure.

I just re-read that paragraph and it makes no sense.

Well.

The fridge was disgusting, after a manner of speaking. It hasn't been cleaned since we moved in. It is sparkly now. Spot wanted to help but he kinda got in the way.

The papers are done being shredded except for a few pieces I need to double check on since they look like medical records of some kind.

And I dusted.

Really, the only thing left to do is vacuum, but I may wait until tomorrow because I'm sure I'll be cooking for hours and stuff will be all over the floor again.

Oh, and there was some thick clump of residue under the kitchen sink that looked and squished like congealed beef fat, along with some dried brownish liquid that had gotten all over under there. It was quite vile. It got cleansed and purified down there, but I nearly threw up in the process. I still have no idea what it was. Besides just gross.

I'm craving something containing apples and walnuts. Hmmm. Four recipes from which I can choose.

So I'm going through these cookbooks Donna passed on to me (which I'm about to pass on to, say, a thrift store).

I'm in a state of shock at how many of the recipes involve pig products. If it's not straight-out pork, it calls for sausage or bacon or to be wrapped in thick slices of ham. I'm looking at the pictures and it's really grossing me out.

Yuck.

We had a lovely morning at the bungalow. We made fried potatoes for breakfast and made a fire and s'mores while the laundry was laundering. Dan did the dishes while I started packing our stuff up, and we left Manzanita around two.

We stopped at a few art galleries in Cannon Beach, which was fun. Then we decided to check out Fort Stevens. We got there at three-thirty to see a sign proclaiming it closed at four. Joy.

Well, we made the most of our half hour. We saw most everything in the museum and halfway checked out one battery before we got shooed out by rangers. We drove out and looked for the cemetery that was supposed to be nearby. Of course it was closed. We passed another cemetery on the way back to Seaside and it was closed, too. Sad. So were they all.

We decided to stop in Seaside for dinner. Dan remembered a place he thought was called Donna's (it was Norma's), but we decided to eat at Pudgy's instead. Our waiter reminded me of someone, but I could not think who. We had halibut and rice pilaf with veggies and went wandering along the promenade and down a street or two to look at the old houses, which is always fun. On the way back to the car, we passed a Dreyer's store and Dan bought me an ice cream cone. I had strawberry cheesecake. Yummyness.

Then we headed home. I really had to go number 2. This is always a problem when your only option is a rest area. Specifically a rest area where none of the automatic sensing flushers have the sense to flush. One toilet did not have a heap of soggy toilet paper mounded up in it, so I very carefully lined the seat with paper because they didn't even provide seat covers and I went.

Oh, how I hate public bathrooms.

When we got home, Dan put his desk and chair together and we moved mine to make room for his.
